Shurovi Sayeed

Shurovi Sayeed is a passionate Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator based in Canada. She has extensive experience in evidence-based nutrition interventions for diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and chronic kidney disease management. She has worked with populations at high risk of non-communicable diseases, including African, Caribbean, South Asian, and First Nations communities. She has established strong affiliations with the College of Dietitians of Ontario, Dietitians of Canada, the Diabetes Education Community Network of East Toronto, and Toronto Diabetes Care Connect.

Shurovi’s academic journey is equally impressive. She holds an MA in Health Policy and Equity from the Department of Health Policy and Management at York University, a PhD in Cell Information Medicine from the Division of Cancer Biology at Nagoya University in Japan, and an MSc and BSc in Nutrition and Food Science from the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science at the University of Dhaka. Her academic excellence has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the York University Graduate Fellowship, Otsuka Toshimi Foundation Scholarship, Daiko Foundation Scholarship, Nagoya Shimin Ryogakusei Scholarship, and the Nagoya University Outstanding Graduate Student Award.
