Professor Dr. Khursheed Jahan

Dr. Khursheed Jahan, a scholar of the Harvard School of Public Health, the professor of the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science, University of Dhaka is well-known as a nutrition scientist and public health specialist of Bangladesh with extended national and international involvement.

She has designed and led a large number of significant research works on a wide range of issues including child and maternal nutrition, safe food, water and sanitation, arsenicosis, school feeding programs, vitamin A and iodine deficiency, herbal and plant medicine, livelihoods etc. She started her working life as a medical professional by working as a lecturer of Sir Salimullah Medical College.

She worked as a visiting professor of different International Universities including Toho University, Japan and Nippon Dental University, Tokyo, Japan. She is a well-known ‘Public Health Consultant’ of WHO, World Bank, JICA, SIDA, IPHN and others. A number of public health research papers of Dr. Khursheed were published in different national and international journals and periodicals including Asian Congress of Nutrition, Journal of Biological Sciences, and ‘Food and Nutrition Bulletin’ of United Nations University.

She is a Member of the editorial committee of Austin Journal of Nutrition & Austin Publications LLC, New Jercy, USA. She is the publisher of an upcoming public health journal named “Public Health Review”. Also, Dr. Khursheed is the founder of “Professor Khursheed Jahan Gold Medal Trust” of the University of Dhaka.
