Professor Dr. Farzana Saleh

Farzana Saleh completed Ph.D under the faculty of Postgraduate Medical Science & Research, graduated in nutritional sciences and obtained a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) from the University of Dhaka. She worked as a Sr. Research Fellow with the Biomedical Research Group of BIRDEM, as an Asst. Professor with Community Nutrition department of the BIHS (a sister organization of BIRDEM) and as an Associate Professor with the same department at Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS).

At present, she has been serving as a Professor and the Head of department. She has more than 30 publications (including four monographs), and among them, 25 publications are in peer-reviewed journals.

Apart from scientific activities, Farzana Saleh has proved to be a good organizer, serving as the Deputy Leader of the project on ‘Improving Diabetes Management in Bangladesh through Diabetes Educators’ conducted during 2007-2011 with support from the World Diabetes Foundation.

She also served as the Asst. Organizing Secretary of several national and regional conferences organized by the BADAS, BIHS, and ANRAP and worked as an Asst. Editor of the diabetes-related magazine named “Kanti” during 2001-2005.
